Tags and Newsletters

Beginning

I had to add the audience to mailchimp that we set up. Once we got all the information for the audience I added them into mailchimp it was a real struggle as there were lots of different ways to insert the information in but after a lot of research on Tags,Segments,Groups I decided to go for tags, (tags are working really well i think I made the right choice). After I decided to go with tags I had to add them all in and check if they were all working properly so I added myself in and gave myself some tags so I could send some test emails to myself. Adding myself to the audience was a great idea for further projects I had to do as I could always just send test emails and templates to see how they looked.

Middle

I was tasked to make a voice recording talking about who I am and what I do, then I talked about the Avatar project, how I did it and how I felt about it. I was pretty nervous at first as it's the first time doing it,but I already jotted down some notes on what I needed to say so I didn't struggle as much as it was mostly all written down what I needed to say. I decided to use voice memos as I have had some experience using it and it's also simple to use. When I started to sit down and do the voice recording it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, I think it went pretty well. I now feel a lot more confident about it so much I decided to do another one. This one was focused on my ​​Claritas Newsletter.

After I created a test template I learnt how to send an email and how to use the tags I created. I now know how to use tags efficiently and feel very confident sending out email/newsletters using mailchimp.

After I created the template I did a test send to myself and DA to see how it would look and also to make sure i know how to send for when i'm creating the real newsletter, we came across a problem when trying to send the email from mailchimp they were all going to spam folder also the images won't’ show up. After some research I found out how to sort are problem out. We had to authenticate are domains on mailchimp using the website tab.

I also created a template for DA newsletter that might be the final template to use and send to are audience. I'm loving how the new design looks and all the tricks i've learnt to create a great looking and feeling newsletter.
