Claritas Wealth Management
Brief
Design a newsletter for Claritas Wealth Management. This is to replace their existing newsletter.
Resources
Although I had completed several InDesign tutorials, this was my first Adobe InDesign project brief. I had to do a lot of research on how to create all the elements needed for the Newsletter.

InDesign
InDesign is a lot different from the other Adobe products I have used in the past like photoshop and illustrator as InDesign is a Desk-top publishing (DTP) application. The positioning of text and images is a big thing in InDesign, compared to artwork and editing images in the other two.

Font
I used Claritas’s font, the way I found out what font they use was by looking through Clarita’s websites Source Codes. It took a while to find the font name but once I did I googled it and found a website to download the font. It was the first time I properly used Source Code and I learned how to find fount and images a lot easier.

Images
I also tried using Source Codes to get an image but had a problem doing that as it was embedded into the website instead of just being an image so I had to use some websites to find the type of images they were looking for in their newsletter.

detail
I learned how important detail really is when being a graphic designer. Such as pixel-perfect alignment and scaling. InDesign has a lot of lines and rules to help you when designing your layout.. Spacing between text and objects like images is really important as it can really change the newsletter’s feeling. I learned that you always need to follow a layout when making newsletters or any desk-top publishing.

layout
For the layout, we decided to use the Claritass font for the heading. We also used their signature colour. It really matched with the image we chose as it blends nicely with the sand on the image. We chose the colours that would work best with the original colour and each section used the same colour as the box with its name. I chose to do 3-row columns with equal spacing between them and can add an image anywhere in them.

Resources
I have used a lot of websites to help me complete this newsletter such as the one I used to download the Claritas font that was named Dala Floda. Very few websites had this font so I was lucky to find the one I used to get the font was
Also, I used some websites to look for lifestyle photographs to use within the newsletter, the main one I used was Envato elements as that is where I found the template for the newsletter also, some other ones were Canva and Unsplash.

Skills
I have learned a lot of skills from this such as
How to use the roller tool to perfectly aline everything
Adding hyperlinks to images
How to use and also change cover and master pages.
