organising Brand book

Beginning

For most of this week, I was working on making a brand book for Claritas. First, I had to find some designs/templates that would work well with the company, I used Envato elements for that. It took me a while to find any at first as I look for flyers at the bigging but then decided to go for more of a Brochure, this worked a lot better as there was a lot more room for information. It took me a while but coincidently I managed to find one that worked perfectly as the colours almost matched Claritas and so did the fount.

Middle

Once I finally found the right brand book to use I downloaded it. I came into a slight problem at first as the file was for keynote so I couldn’t use adobe illustrator to edit it. So far I haven't found any trouble editing it on keynote. I started filling it in with Claritas information such as their colour pallet and font I used coolors.co to get the colour pallet from the Claritas newsletter. coolors helped to keep it all organised and also gave me the names of the colours used.

Once I was done with the colours I started on the font replacing all the text on the brand book with their font and putting its name on the font page. I came into a slight problem when adding the Nexa font is only in regular, there’s not bold or italic version available on keynote.

Im Trying to find a way to get the font styles in keynote.

Near the end of the week, I took a small break from the brand book to focus on organising my files as they were all scatted in the download folder. I made a few different folders for the work I have been doing such as DA, DISC, Claritas and NowSkills this will really help to make my workflow faster as I have them all in different folders not having to flick through tons of files to find work will help me in the long run. It took me a while to complete this as almost all the work I have done was in the download folder meaning I had to go through 200 or 300 files, luckily most were in a batch so I could move a few at once at the forest I really struggled and found it overwhelming as there was so much. Still, after I got the hand of it I managed to do the 2nd half of it pretty fast. I have leant now how important it is to stay organised as it took too long to sort all that out. Also, it will help me find work alot faster as I now know where it is.
