Claritas new Door design

This week I'm trying something different, doing the blog on Thursday instead of Friday, but I might post it on Friday so I can update it with what I did on that day too.

At the beginning of the week I focused on the door design it was a fun and interesting process making the design took a few days but I finally came up with a great design that works with the Claritas aesthetic implementing the colours and artwork from their newsletter. My favourite part of the door design is the main window with the photographic image. I love how the mountains peak over the letter boxes and the faint tint of the blue on the window. I'm really proud of how this turned out.

Once I completed the door design I worked on the other two designs for them, the car park sign and the Hanging tab sign. These were simpler to complete but I still enjoyed it as I used the transform / distort tool for the first time in photoshop for a piece of work. I have used distort in the past not knowing what it was.

I found it extremely helpful as the image I had to work from was from an angle so being able to distort my work to make it fit the image improved my design work and understanding of how it would look in person.

Near the end of the week, I worked on the DISC footer for emails to make it look more aesthetically pleasing as the text was all random and didn't look organised. That's defiantly not the way we want to present to people when sending emails.

It was a challenge at times trying the get the images to fit if I made them too small it was unreadable and if I made them too big they wouldn't all fit on one line. After a lot of trial and error, I came up with the idea of putting them all in one file so I could scale them and also make sure they all lined up correctly. I just wish I had thought of it sooner as this way only took me a few minutes compared to the individual way that I spent 30+ minutes on.

By Friday I had it all ready and updated what I did today and posted the blog. I also stated work on two new portfolio peaced that will be added soon.
